FISK was founded on September 27th, 2009 by Bijan Berahimi. We are a graphic design collective primarily based out of CalArts. FISK is an effort to create a design community both locally and beyond for students. We are a publishing house whose main focus is to promote student work because of the lack thereof. FISK is a resource for growing designers, a place for discussion and participation. It’s also a place to explore and take part in the many facets of design.

We have a strong belief in establishing design communities, both professionally and socially. We like to express our belief by creating collaborative publications, having get togethers as often as possible, and staying active on this website.

We are very passionate about printed matter and pursuing personal projects. We believe there is a place for print as a design object whether that be a poster or publication. Print is an extremely exciting medium for us. Nothing compares to the physicality and tactility of a printed object, we think there is something special about that.
